Tmaking an expedition to the mountains and practicing ecotourism, allows us to get to know new cultures, new lifestyles, majestic natural landscapes, and a unique travel experience. But traveling is more than just having fun, it must involve a commitment to maintain and respect the natural and cultural heritage of the places we visit.

This is why our centers apply the best ecotourism accordance practices with the NMX-AA-133_SCFI-2006 (Requirements and specifications for the sustainability of ecotourism) and with this, continue with the conservation of our natural resources and at the same time contributing to the socioeconomic development of our communities.

During your visit to our ecotourism centers, you would also contribute to the natural resources care following this easy indication at the moment of preparing your luggage, before and during your trip.

What do I need to take in my expedition?

  • A small backpack.

  • Comfortable shoes, biking, or horseback riding clothing (this depends on your interests).

The clothing you will be using in the activities must have or be from neutral colors (dark blue, gray, brown, black, military green).

  • Hiking shoes

  • Cap or hat for the sun.

  • Personal use articles (in the cabins you will find biodegradable soaps for your personal use).

  • If you need a repellent, make sure it is an environmentally friendly one.

  • Resting shoes.

  • A sweater or jacket.

  • In rainy seasons do not forget to take a raincoat, and extra shoes and clothing.

  • In cold seasons make sure to pack jackets, gloves, a scarf, and winter hats.

Making the difference:

  • When planning your activities, prioritize walking, biking, or horseback riding instead of using automobiles.

  • When you get to the community, get informed about the internal regulations and respect the local culture.

  • During the tour, transit only in the established trails, enjoy the natural wonders without altering or disturbing it, so other travelers can also enjoy them.

  • Take only pictures to remember the communities; do not take plants or animals with you.

  • Use the community services (guides, food and lodges) this way you will help to promote the local economy and also obtain a more enriching experience.

  • Who better than the community members themselves to talk to you about their own culture and show you the place? Be respectful with the ¨when ¨and ¨where¨ you are taking pictures and videos about the people. Always ask before taking them.

  • If you get the opportunity to refill your water bottle during the tour, do it! This way you help to minimize the solid waste production.

  • Do not introduce slow degradation materials or dangerous waste to the community.

  • Do not throw solid waste outside of the established areas.

  • Take smaller showers to save water remember that if you use natural shampoo, soap and toothpaste you help to save the water and prevent it from contaminating (in the Ecotourism centers you will find biodegradable soaps).

  • If you have opportunity, participate in any kind of voluntary service in the community. This will let you involve with the locals from another perspective (Ask for our environmental and reforestation educational programs).

¡With your help you contribute to the conservation of our natural resources!
